Brief Answer:
It seems you are having a fever related to a viral infection- details below

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service,

I carefully read your query and understand your concern.
The chills and shakinesss you had could be due to you developing a fever. Very likely you are going through infection and in most cases, it is a viral infection that starts so suddenly with fever and headaches and no other localized symptoms (such as cough, urinary symptoms or skin lesions).

It is good you are already trying to keep yourself hydrated as fever may cause loss of fluids and resting will help your body restore quicker.

Meanwhile, you may continue with Tylenol if it controls well the fever and the pain you may be experiencing. If Tylenol is not helping enough, you may add Aleve with it (take if after food to protect your stomach as it may be hard on the stomach).

Normally, you should improve in a few days. If you notice no improvement or if you have any worsening or any new symptoms such as cough, urinary symptoms or skin rash you will need to see your doctor. In these cases, more important infections that may need antibiotics, such as lung infection, urinary infection, etc, should be ruled out.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
