Brief Answer:
Please go through detailed answer.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Have seen your details and I appreciate your concerns,
I would suggest you to go for a test called endoscopy.
Endoscopy is done to see upper gastrointestinal tract.
Stools are black and tarry in color when bleeding in intestinal tract is located in upper part.
Most likely cause is ulcers in stomach and duodenal area.
Thanks and please feel free to follow up.
Regards.

Dr - Upper endoscopy was performed, nothing was found, CT was done, nothing was found, now they want to do a colonoscopy, what do you think? Do you think that’s a good idea? In fact I had a colonoscopy done just a couple of months ago, If the colonoscopy does not show anything, what else could be the problem? Any suggestions you may have to offer would be greatly appreciated by me, thank you very much

Dr. -

1. it appears I was bleeding from the right side of my colon, where I was previously diagnosed with diverticulitis, and this resulted in black stool at first, and then significant rectal bleeding, a colonoscopy was performed, a clip was inserted, and I was discharged from the hospital with antibiotics

2. now my doctor wants me to consider surgery to address the diverticulitis, what is your opinion? what are the risks? basically this is my third episode of diverticulitis in 6 months; however the second episode occurred immediately after a colposcopy and my dr. informed me that the colonoscopy actually caused the diverticulitis

3. Thank you and I look forward to hearing back from you.
