Brief Answer:
may need to keep uncovered to reduce heat

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

if the nail bed is dry, then you may not want to keep it covered because this would keep the area hot and prone to infection.

If there is continued evidence of a nail bed bacterial infection- swelling, increased redness, pain, discharge, increased warmth- then the neosporin should definitely be continued

You may want to consider the use of a topical anti fungal for 2 to 3 weeks since it was a fungal infection that caused the issues eg ketoconazole, econazole, clotrimazole, miconazole.
An oral antifungal is also an option as well.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

HI

The picture is not attached to this question, may have been attached to a previous question, can try to resend

Most lesions are left uncovered if minor to allow air to circulate but if you are uncomfortable with that idea, can definitely wait till you see your doctor

The picture is attached now? Do you think the nail will be normal once it grows back?

Brief Answer:
should heal ok

Detailed Answer:
Hi

yes the image can be seen now

Should be, complete resolution occurs in most cases, based on the image, should consider the oral instead of the topical antifungal, to make sure that everything heals well

Your doctor would be able to prescribe one for you- terbinafine, fluconazole, itraconazole
