I Am Having Pain In My Shoulders And My Hips.

Question: I am having pain in my shoulders and my hips. Worse on my right than my left. Also across my rib cage around my sternum. My sed rate and my crp are elevated but by ANA is negative. All other labs (WBC, chem panel) are wnl. my pain level in at a 7 on a 10 point scale. Worse in the morning and late evening.

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
I have gone through your details . ANA negative , ESR and CRP Positive, with early morning pain. It could be rheumatoid or deficiency disease.
I would like the following investigations to begin with:
1. X rays of hips and shoulder
2.Blood tests for Complete blood count , Rheumatoid factor . Anti CCP antibodies, LFT.
3. Serum levels of Vitamin D3, Vitamin B12, Calcium and alkaline phosphatase.
I will start mild pain killers ,muscle relaxants , a combination of pregabalin and methycobalamine. Rest of the treatment would depend on the test values.
