Question: I am an unmarried girl who got aborted medically 1 week ago . Now I have to go to my family doctor for an ultrasound , MRI and CT since I have a cyst of 8 cm and my doctor is monitoring it . It has been 1 week since I got the abortion . I am terrified that she will detect my abortion . Is it possible to detect abortion after a week ? Can I claim the bleeding is my period ?

Brief Answer:
Detection not possible if the abortion is complete

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
No one will be able to detect that you have undergone abortion, if the abortion process was complete and no products of conception are left in the uterus.
Bleeding can be quoted as due to periods.
There is absolutely nothing to worry if the abortion process is complete.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

How can I know if the abortion was successful. Except for nipple soreness I never had any symptom . This has reduced completely . I was 5 weeks 5 days pregnant and I didn't see any sac or embryo come out . My ultrasound had showed a sac and yolk with perigestational bleeding before I started the abortion . Is there any way that it failed ? Since I didn't have much bleeding except for 2 3 hours of taking the tablet and then light bleeding with mild cramping .

Brief Answer:
Ultrasound advised

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
Bleeding after a 5 weeks 5 days abortion is not likely to be very heavy.
So, if the symptoms has waned off, then the abortion is likely to be completed.
You can get a ultrasound to check whether the abortion is complete.
