Question: 36 year old Male
So, I'll just jump right into it. Approximately 9 days ago, I had unprotected anal sex with my wife, which we have done before and I never had an issue other than slight irritation. A few days later, I made a mistake and saw an escort with whom I received protected (condom) oral sex from and also had a couple minutes of protected (same condom) vaginal sex. Condom remained intact. I don't know if I should add that I had shaved my pubic area that day so there may have been tiny abrasions that were not covered.

The next day I start to feel this urge like I need to urinate all the time, even after I go. So first thing I think is I got an STD from the previous days mistake. Then I start to think it's a possible UTI or some kind of infection from the unprotected anal several days before. I went to Urgent Care and they tested for UTI which came back negative. Although it hurt a lot when the Dr pressed on my bladder. He said prostatitis and prescribed me Doxycycline 100mg x2 a day for 10 days.

I've been on them for about 3 days now and have no relief of symptoms and have been noticing occasional flank pain and slight pain in urethra (no burning when i urinate).

Which is more likely, the unprotected anal with std free wife or the protected oral/vaginal from unknown (said is clean and is checked every 3 months) stranger. Will the doxycycline take some time to start working?

I recieved a negative on urinalysis for bacteria, could the UA come back negative but still have an infection?

Its been 5 days since i started taking the antibiotic, not much change and now im feeling more pain in my kidneys, should i be concerned and follow up with my GP?
