Brief Answer:
It may take 1-2 weeks after chancre formation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX

VDRL(Venereal Disease Research Laboratory) test may take 1-2 weeks for positive results after chancre formation.Formation of chancre approximately take 3 to 90 days(averagely takes 3 weeks) to erupt.
So,you should wait for some days depending upon chancre formation.
However, sensitivity of the VDRL is about 78-86%.
VDRL test is based upon antibody produced by infected person.

FTA-ABS (Fluorescent treponemal antibody-absorption) is commonly used as a confirmatory test following positive VDRL test. This test is needed due to chances of false positive results of VDRL.
