Question: Hi
I had unprotected sex on October, just two days before my period date. I took ipill and my menses were late by more than a week. My next period came late by a week and stopped suddenly in the first day. Is this normal? Am I pregnant? I am tensed, please help.

Brief Answer:
Get a urine pregnancy test

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
I pill if taken within72 hours of unprotected intercourse, prevents the pregnancy in 98% cases.
Delayed periods can be due to hormonal disturbances or due to pregnancy.
I will suggest you to get a urine pregnancy test to confirm the diagnosis, and if negative then you should get your hormonal profile done including thyroid hormone levels and prolactin levels done and get appropriate treatment.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Please do get back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.
