How Long Does Recovery Take After A Sigmoidoscopy?

default
Posted on Thu, 21 Apr 2016
Question: Hi,

I had a sigmoidoscopy over 6 weeks ago, i had a polyp removed from the lower part of my colon. Ive had a pinching feeling from the site where they took the polyp and some pain. My stolls are quite flat, i have been examined since the procedure by a doctor who felt for swelling, but no swelling was found. The polyp was a sessile polyp and they struggled to remove it for a while. How long will this feeling last and is it normal? Many thanks

Kind regards

Brief Answer:
Needs a test

Detailed Answer:
You need to get the stool tested for occult blood.
I think the possibility of a mild persistent bleeding is possible which is causing the symptoms.
Please inform the result for further advice.
