So just to confirm the cystic artery would be totally closed and healed with scar tissue after 12 weeks so it cannot open again after this phase of healing has happened?

Excellent , last question and I thank you dearly for your patience with me.

My friend had something called ischemia of Either his cystic artery or his cystic duct ...which is why his clips came off...he is now doing better though
Thank god.

If I had ischemia or an issue like this would I know it by now and have symptoms of some kind after 22 years?

I have had no issues at all personally but I saw what happened to him and got scared to be honest..

Hello again,
Ischemia means lack of blood supply.Even if you have mild ischemia you would experience severe pain.
Just enjoy life my dear friend.22 years is too long a time for any complication.
Hope you would have a good day ahead.
In case you ever feel any problem can write back to me.

Hello again ...I just wanted to confirm..So the cystic duct and cystic artery can never open up again anymore considering they are now closed, scarred and healed? Even if a clip did fall off for some strange reason.. I just wanted to make sure that they both could not open up again once they have been closed and healed.

Once again I apologize for all the questions but
I felt it was necessary for me to clear my head and be sure so I can move forward.

Thank you for your help ... it is greatly appreciated!

I had laparoscopic gall bladder surgery and healed quickly... thank you for asking.

Once the cystic duct and cystic artery are ligated.
I am not sure if it is common procedure to cauterize them after they are clipped. If they were not cauterized I wanted to make sure that both the cystic artery and cystic duct will close up and seal naturally on its own and heal with protective scar tissue the same 8 to 10 weeks and will never open again...

Detailed Answer:
Hi again dear,
"I am not sure if it is common procedure to cauterize them after they are clipped"-Its a common procedure done in surgery.

No they are cauterized to prevent bleeding other wise internal bleed would lead patient into shock.Cystic duct contain cystic artery so if titanium clips are not left there patient would land up in shock in few hours. The clips are made of metal titanium that do not harm the body and they are left in place and slowly scarred tissue covers then up in about 3 months.

Hope you were satisfied by answers.

Sorry I think you misunderstood my question.

I understand the clips are left in and are bilogically inert. What I meant to say was once the cystic artery and bile duct are clipped and Hemostasis is achieved. Do they need to cauterize them with the clips still on for the cystic duct and cystic artery to close up naturally and heal properly. When you look at videos on line I don’t remember seeing them seal the duct and artery with any cauterization... so I was just making sure that If the clips are left in but no cauterization was done ... will it still heal the same way?

Brief Answer:
Follow up answer.

Detailed Answer:
Hello my dear patient,
Sorry for disappointment
Initially the arteries are cauterized however once they are clipped there is no sense of cauterization again.Clips are basically doing the same work i.e to prevent bleed.
What you have seen online is correct.
Cauterization is usually done to prevent bleed from small vessel(burning them) while clips are used to block bleeding from main big vessels.
Hope this time i make it clear.
In case you want to know any thing further its a pleasure to answer you.
Thanks!

Ok so to summarize both the cystic duct and cystic artery will close completely and stay closed permanently and scar in about 3 months once Hemostasis is made without the need for cauterization after both areas are clipped with titanium clips?

doctor
Answered by Dr. Ramesh Kumar (1 minute later)
Brief Answer:
Yes.

Detailed Answer:
Yes my dear patient in (99% cases).

I apologize but What does 99% mean ...can you be clear?

I am referring to my case only...what is the final 1% for? I want to make sure that I have nothing to worry about...so the 1% concerned me a little

Also don’t they cut the cystic artery and they clip it? I didn’t think they cauterized the cystic artery first and then cut it? I only saw them cauterizing around the liver and gall bladder when they take it out.

Brief Answer:
Follow up answer.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Final 1% are the cases where there is something wrong.Though surgery is performed through bookish instruction yet human body and its response differs from one person to another,That is something no one can predict.
Cystic artery is the main artery with a number of small vessels and capillaries branching out of it.Just like you have a main pipe line supply of water to your house which branches off into different area.So cauterization is done for those branches and clipping is done for the main artery(an artery as large as cystic artery can't be burnt off).
Mild variations of surgical procedure depends on surgeon and what he sees inside body.So every step can't be same in every human.Thats why we need a surgeon other wise a programmed robot could have done all surgeries.
Thanks and feel free to follow up.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
I got my basic training from XXXXXXX my nation where as a intern you can get surgeries to do on your own. When i was an intern i used to attend laprotomy and many other operationd.I did my fellowship from USA which i would say is most hyped with least free hand on patients.
In XXXXXXX we start these basis surgeries as M.B.B.S interns.
Though now i am old person and having paralysis(hemiplagia) so i use to migrate from XXXXXXX to canada to other places time to time with my sons and daughter.
This is a online portal where at this age and with health problems i could help people.
I have assisted a number of case.Gallbladder operation laproscopically means peanut in XXXXXXX or developing nations. You have hundreds of patients for free hand exposure.
I am a old and crippled chap now.
what happened do you feel any problem with my answers.I would be happy if you could correct me as a patient is the best doctor of his disease.I am not a surgeon i am a MD medicine followed by fellow ship in Gastroenterolgy but Gallbladder is something i have done and assisted hundreds of time.
Thank you.

What do you mean by laparoscopic gall bladder surgery is peanut in XXXXXXX so I understand?

Also what is freehand exposure mean.

I am not familiar with these terms!

Thank you for being so kind.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Free hand exposure means that due to over population and poor medical services for poor people(80%) patients life and death depends on you.So you get a lots and lots of exposure since internship. In goverment hospital you are the only one who cares about patient. As number of patients are very high you get a lots and lots of exposure.
By peanut i mean this is among the easiest surgical procedure.Gallbladder surgery hernia etc.
Therefore hands of XXXXXXX doctors is very fine.Almost 40% doctors in UK are from XXXXXXX We get oppurtunity to see all side effects which in less populated countries doctors read in books only.
Currently there is 1 doctor in XXXXXXX on 7000 people.
Even in denmark there is acute shortage of specialists.
Hope you can understand

That’s incredible , so you have had completed many of these gall bladder surgeries yourself?

Answered by Dr. Ramesh Kumar (8 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
follow up.

Detailed Answer:
A lots and lots of them that too during my intern. As told earlier certification by biard was the worst part.No free hand exposure nothing.Just observe the patient.
Most of the times XXXXXXX doctors are not interested in performing surgeries on poor people. You get tons of appendicitis hernia gallbladder pancreatitis and you have to deal with it yourself.
Are you amazed?
Thats why XXXXXXX doctors have a good hand.

Detailed Answer:
I am a gastroenterologist and we deal with all the cases related to gastroenterology once surgery is performed. In case you want to go for surgical gastroenterologist only then you can get your money refunded sir.The question was posted in gastroenterology forum and thats why i picked it but as you are over skeptical about things you can ask the customer care for a transfer or refund.
There is no such thing like gallbladder sugeon. Its Mch gastrosurgery with 3 to 6 month fellow ship in hepatobiliary surgery.
