How Long Does Crestor Withdrawal Last?

Question: I have been off crestor 10 days because of seious side effects-terrible weakness,sweating, exhaustion, difficulty walking, pains in leg and arm muscles, shoulder pain, itching. Been on crestor 20 for several years- before that Lipitor 60 for years. When can I expect symptom improvement? YYYY@YYYY

In some persons improvement can occur within the first 2 weeks but others may not note significant change for 4 to 6 weeks.

The use of vitamin D replacement and co enzyme Q can sometimes speed recovery so you can try these if you are not already currently using them.

When the pain resolves completely, if you still have high cholesterol or at risk of heart disease/stroke, then your doctor may restart a medication at a lower dose or consider medication such as ezetimibe which is not statin based.

A check of your thyroid status may also be appropriate because low hormone levels this can cause muscle aches/pain as well.
