How Effective Is Acupuncture In Treatment Of Osteitis Pubis?

Question: hello. my son was diagnosed with Osteitis pubis after catching a ball playing football. he has gone through rehab and taken all kinds of pain killers. do you think that accupuncture would help?

It is in an odd spot, but basically it is an inflamed joint like any other.

If someone had an overworked elbow, you'd put it in a sling, give anti-inflammatory medications, maybe ice at first, then warmth. and you'd limit movement. It is hard to limit movement of the pelvis, but as much as possible, that should be done. If a LOT of heavy lifting/stress was placed on the area, then just not doing that is a big change. If it happened with a lot of usual activity (jogging) then, just walking can keep the area from healing. Tricky.

Accupuncture is best on nerve pain and not as good on inflammation. You could try it but I'm not optimistic.
