How Can My Bones Be Strengthened When Diagnosed With Scoliosis?

default
Posted on Wed, 8 Feb 2017
Question: I was born with scoliosis which has become more sever in my 40s & 50s. I managed to stop the progression by doing Schroth physical therapy, but what can I do to keep my bones strong now that I'm post menopause? Is it possible to measure hormone levels to see if BHRT should be considered? Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Yes. You can measure sex hormones before starting BHRT

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

Yes, you can get FSH, LH, Oestradiol, Progesterone, Androgens and Thyroid hormones tested before started HRT.

Also very a medical checkup to rule out any risk factors for possible side effects of HRT like clot formation, headaches, breast cancer etc. because HRT can cause these side effects especially in person's predisposed to the associated diseases.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
