Brief Answer:
You should have ultrasound examination of the pelvic area.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Dull pain in the pelvic area is mostly caused by the inflammatory processes of the underlying organs. Urinary tract infections, kidney stones or inflammation of the gastrointestinal organs such as diverticulitis, irritable bowel syndrome or pelvic adhesions may present with the pain in the pelvic area.
During hysterectomy uterus (with or without cervix) is surgically removal but ovaries remain intact. Ovarian disorders (e.g. cysts) may also give dull pain in the pelvic area.

In order to identify the cause of the pain you should see your doctor and have physical examination, complete blood count and urine tests help to identify inflammatory or infectious processes in your body. Ultrasound examinations of the pelvic organs are important to assess the structure or any pathology of the area. During the ultrasound kidneys, ureters, and bladder may also be imaged.

The treatment is specific depending on the cause of the pain.

I hope the above information will be helpful for you. Please, feel free to ask me if there is anything else you need to know.
Thank you.
