default
Posted on Tue, 13 Jun 2017
Question: I have had canker sores in my mouth for the past 2 years, they have begun to spread into my throat and sometimes cause a secondary bacterial infection. I have researched everything and now am thinking its hormonal related.

Brief Answer:
Possible diagnosis: Behcet's syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic.

Since you have tried vitamin supplements, anti vitals and several treatments for canker sores, and since your sores seem to be spreading, I recommend looking for a auto immune condition like Behcet's syndrome as the cause.
Auto immune disorders means that your own immune system is acting against your body.
Confirmation of Behcet's syndrome is by clinical presentation and petgergy test.
Treatment is with immunosuppressive drugs like corticosteroids.
Please be advised to follow up with your primary care provider for further evaluation and management.

Hope this answers your question
