Hi There I Got A Routine Blood And Urine Test

default
Posted on Fri, 31 May 2019
Question: Hi there

I got a routine blood and urine test and there was microhematuria (4-10) instead of 0-3 as normal.

I know I need further tests, but I am just worried if it can be anything else not bladder cancer at all, as I am asymptomatic.

I am just 50 years old, nonsmoker and never worked with the chemicals that irritate liver and bladder.

Brief Answer:
Urine cytology test for malignant cells

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Since there is slight blood in urine, a CT scan abdomen and a blood test for urine cytology (that is urine for malignant cells) are absolutely necessary to rule out any possibility of bladder cancer.

If there is further bleeding, you may take tablet Tranexamic acid with your doctor's advise.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards

Thank you. Could you tell me if there can be another reason for the bleeding apart from cancer?

I mean, how is statistic on baladder cancer for my age group, is it possible, probable, likely, almost certain? I'd like to know what my odds are here. And if it is, is it still possible it could be stage I?
