Brief Answer:
Need more details....

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

As I understand your daughter has an intermittent fever which rises late evening/night for the last 3 days. Is she having a high-grade fever (temp above 100 deg F)? Does she have any other associated complaints with fever-like body ache, headache, vomiting, loose stools, runny nose, cough, sorethroat, and so on?

It is common to have late evening rise in fever due to diurnal variations in body hormones. I would like to know if your child is active during the day time when there is no fever or does she remain drowsy?

Often the cause is a viral infection and should subside. But in the current circumstances, I would also like to know if anyone in the family is suffering from fever lasting for week or if she has had contact with a confirmed COVID-19 positive individual?

Awaiting your response...

Brief Answer:
Use paracetamol and Maxtra P as and when necessary...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It's good to hear she is active and well during the day. Therefore I will suggest using paracetamol three or four times daily. Use Maxtra P 5ml only if fever persists despite paracetamol.

I would like to know her current weight to discuss dose of paracetamol.

Encourage her to eat well and drink plenty of fluids. Start syp zincovit 1 tsp once daily. Give her citrus fruits to supplement vitamin C.

If fever persists for more than a day or two (from now); I will recommend visiting a doctor and planning tests.

Brief Answer:
Syp crocin DS 7.5ml...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

For her weight, she needs 375mg of paracetamol (Syp Crocin DS 7.5ml or half tablet of Dolo 650mg) three to four times daily. Maxtra P can be given at night if fever persists despite the medications.

As instructed earlier, you should consider visiting a doctor for further tests if the fever continues to last beyond tomorrow.

Hope this helps. Regards
