Hi I’ve Been Dealing With An Issue Of A Rash/chaffing,

Question: Hi I’ve been dealing with an issue of a rash/chaffing, for lack of a better term on my buttcrack for some time maybe even years now. I’ve been told lots of people deal with that even though mine seems a bit worse than what most people tell me, I wasn’t supper worried about it. But recently my tailbone has started aching particularly from sitting down and I don’t recall doing anything that would injure it. So I’m concerned the two issues could be connected. Both seem bizarre for someone my age I’m not even 22 yet.

Brief Answer:
Rash not much related to tailbone pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

In order to give you a better opinion on the rash you can upload a photo on reports.
I don't think that the pain in tailbone is related to this rash. I think it can be related to long hours staying sitting on chair or excessive exercising.
You can take antiinflammatory drugs such Advil or naproxen for pain. Avoid sitting for long hours. Do stretching after exercising. Have rest for some days.

Hope I have answered the question.

I took a look at it and it’s cleared up right now. It seems to come and go. As long as my tailbone has nothing to do with it I think I’ll be okay. I’ll take your recommendations for my tailbone though and see if it improves. Thank you so much!

Brief Answer:
Make sure it isn't pilonidal cyst.

Detailed Answer:
I wanted to see the rash to make sure that it wasn't any pilonidal cyst or cocygeal abces. It is like a cyst filled with hair follicles and pus. It is not like a rash but like a cyst which can become red , swollen and painful.
If the pain persists and you think it can be pilonidal cyst you may need to visit a doctor to drain the pus there.
Also you may need antibiotics in this case.
Avoid long hours sitting. The pilonidal cyst can reocur.

So I uploaded a picture like you asked. I took an aleve this morning as well as used some corizone10 cream I’ve been using. The aleve didn’t really help. I was at my hobby art shop working on art sitting in a chair with a pillow and the tailbone pain was irritating. Then I got up to use the bathroom and release I was bleeding a bit down there so I was a little concerned. By time I got home and took this photo the bleed had stoped.

Brief Answer:
Go to doctor to drain it.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
I finally see the photo you attached and it looks like pilonidal cyst as I suspected. It is inflammation there that's why it is hurting and is really red and swollen.
I can advice you to go to a surgeon to help it drain because there is no other treatment you can take by yourself taking count it's conditions.
