Questions and answers on "Tailbone pain"

I am a 33 year old female, have been experiencing chronic tailbone pain for several months, worsened when I fell on a waterslide a couple months ago. Got my tubes tied about 2 months ago and have been having issues with digestion ever since - occasionally thin stools and mild pain in the general area. Could this be colon cancer? I have a family history of other cancers - father recently died of occular melanoma and both grandmothers died of breast cancer.

Thin stools are concerning for changes in your colon. you should seek medical attention regarding getting a colonoscopy. this could be simple as inflammation in the colon to possibility of colon cancer. you are quite young, so it is unusual, but it can happen. Your tailbone sounds like it was...

I have had coccydynia (spelling... sorry... chronic tailbone pain) for a few years, post-fall. I recently was diagnosed with herpes (2) and am now experiencing an anal fissure (much different from hemorrhoids!). I am noticing that the tailbone pain is MUCH WORSE. Can herpes cause or trigger an increase in tailbone pain...? And also, what can I do here for the anal fissure? (heat seems to work better than ice... cleansing seems to ease the discomfort... help! Home remedies?)

I have been experiencing tailbone pain since XXXXXXX 2014. It is sore if pressed on and sometimes difficult to sit for long period of time. A week ago I began experiencing sudden burning/pain in my upper mid abdomen followed by an onset of lower back pain a few days later. I have been to the ER twice and have seen my PCP. The pain and burning have been constant, without much relief and eating anything seems to aggravate my symptoms. I had an abdominal CT Scan with contrast, blood work, urine test, and abdominal ultrasound focusing on the gall bladder. All have come back clear. I have a history of GERD and my doctors are leaning towards gastritis and have me on a treatment of prilosec but also have me scheduled for an endoscopy and flexible sigmoidoscopy in light of the intermittent rectal discomfort. My abdominal discomfort has spread to both the left and right side and today i began experiencing pain/soreness in my buttock (primarily right) if feels as if someone has punched me in that area. It is a deep soreness. I have not had any vomiting and from what I can tell no stools in my blood. Could this be a form of stomach or rectal cancer?

I have some tailbone pain, at least I think it's the tailbone, I feel pain if I poke it but theres also a bit of pain if I squeeze my upper right buttock, left buttock no pain. The pain is usually only there when sitting and leaning back, if I'm walking, running or standing etc I dont feel it, or even sitting but leaning forward. I've had this for about 6 weeks or so, some days are better than others but it wont seem to go and sitting on hard surfaces or seats especially is very tough and aggravates it a lot. In the last few days I've had a tiny bit of stinging when urinating too, not hugely painful but I know it's there so am slightly worried. I've booked an appointment with my local doctor but it's not for a few weeks yet. Could you offer any advice in the mean time please?

I'm male, 33, 5'7, 150lbs. And dont recall injuring the tailbone, falling over or anything.

Thanks so much!

Have sx of urinary urgency, no burning. Some increase in bowel movements but probably due to my anxiety over what started about a month ago which was tailbone pain. Have had difficulty sitting on a hard chair for years without pain in my neck occurring. In the last week the tailbone pain is more like burning around the rectum/tailbone and discomfort if I bend down and stoop over. No pain with walking. Had chills and fever a week ago but is gone. Have been coughing a lot for over a week. I am thinking I will get a colonoscopy for starters. Any other help would be appreciated.
