Hello, Ive Been Having Many Negative Symptoms Recently And I

Question: Hello, ive been having many negative symptoms recently and i was wondering what they might be the result of. My heart rate has been high at times, ive been jittery and twitchy, ive felt disconnected, ive felt cold and ive felt dizzy. I would go to a doctor in person but most of the time they just want to get you out the room. It has gotten a bit better since two days ago when i started having much hotter baths, before then it was constant and extreme ie i felt cold jittery twitchy dizzy and with a high heart rate all the time for about a week. Since then its been on and off. Heat tends to make these kind of symptoms go away. I was on 150 mg risperone injection (once a month) until two months ago when my dose was lowered to 100mg. However i dont think its withdrawal because i initially got the shakes two days after my first 100mg injection, which i cured by having a hot bath. I also eat quite a lot, for example on a typical day i estimate i consume between 3500 and 4500 calories off junk food which i have decided to give up soon. I am overweight, weighing about 15/16 stone. At night i sleep for about 12 hours which my dad says isnt healthy and may be the cause of my illness. I am 22. I get little exercise and spend a lot of time inside. When these symptoms started i had quit smoking, but after they started getting really bad and going on for long periods of time i started again but quit a week ago, last cigarette was last sunday. I used to smoke about 45 a day. I have suffered with mental illness for the past 4 years, but have overcome the emotional battle a few months ago, the only thing causing stress now is the illness. During the 3 months since then i have been feeling quite lethargic due quitting smoking around the same time and not having a cigarette to increase my dopamine levels since risperdal works by decreasing dopamine levels i believe. But i have not felt as ill as i have when the shaking, rapid heart rate and others symptoms mentioned above have been going on. What i mean is for the first two months i only felt lethargic and slightly disconnected, while for the last month i have had jitters and shaking and all those extreme negative symptoms. A week and a half or so after it started with the extreme negative symptoms i started smoking again, which didnt really help, but i quit a week ago and it is still happening. I think thats all i can describe. I am describing all this so that you can tell me based on my symptoms and lifestyle, what you think may be the cause of the jitters and extreme heart rate etc. I will change this thing about my lifestyle as soon as possible if i can, along with everything else too. Its just that if i knew what it was i could try all these things to make it stop as soon as possible. Also im a bit worried it might be the medication which if it is theres nothing i can do about it. However i would like you to be honest and not tell any white lies.

Brief Answer:
It is very difficult to conclude.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back,

I have gone through your follow up query and can certainly understand your concern.

But, it is very difficult to conclude on the part which would affect your illness.

Infact, there is more possibility towards your lifestyle as eating a lot than necessary and sleeping a lot would definitely affect your neurochemicals and your illness.

But, I can predict that even your medicine that is risperidone may also lead to excessive sleep.

So, in a way to combat that ,you must schedule your time for physical activity atleast 1 hr per day and reduce your intake of calories.

That would definitely improve your symptoms., That jitteriness could be because of anxiety symptoms due to obesity and also due to illness.

So, if your medicine is according to the specialist advise , you need to continue as sleep could be a side effect but it has to be dealt with other alternatives like physical activity but not with discontinuation of medicine.

Hope this information would help you.
Thank you.

Yes, good to hear this motivated

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back,

I have gone through your follow up query and impressed by your motivated attitude.

Yes, you can follow health lifestyle which can definitely help you to come out of this symptoms , but along with medication.

So, I can advise better about the medication if you can let me know about any hallucinations or delusions, any sleep disturbances, any other social withdrawal symptoms that you are experiencing.

You can describe your activity of daily living for better understanding.
Looking back for your reply.

Thank you.

I havnt had any hallucinations or delusions or anything i have had a few sleep disturbances when ive woken up feeling cold and my hearts been pounding. My social worker XXXXXXX says it probably isnt the medication because if it was it would have been happening since i started taking it two years ago not just a month ago, which is good because my lifestyle is something i can change. My theory was that it was because i quit smoking and that smoking acted as a supressant for the risperidone and without smoking the risperidone started acting up, but XXXXXXX said thats not pssible. So i think im all clear all i need to do is change my lifestyle and i should be better soon. Anything else you can recommend i should do during the day to make myself healthier like take vitamin d tablets etc?
