I currently taking Adderall 12.5 mg daily. I've read that it can lower the amount of dopamine stored in the brain. I also read that L-TYROSINE is the precursor to dopamine and taking a L-tyrosine supplement can help maintain normal levels. Would it be a good idea to take such a supplement along with the Addreall?

Thanks for your query,

Amphetamine ( Adderall) during its action do deplete the levels of Dopamine in the brain.

Consuming foods XXXXXXX in tyrosine will surely help in retaining the Dopamine levels for smooth action of Adderall.

Foods like Meat sources including fish, chicken, and...

Hello, I have a question about amphetamines and more generally stimulant drugs. I know that taking beta-blockers with amphetamines is XXXXXXX since it actually rises blood pressure, but what about taking beta-blockers that also are antagonists of the alpha receptors? Also do amphetamines usually rise or lower blood pressure? I have a borderline-low BP and when I take some I have a feeling it lowers it since I get dizzy even more easily when standing up. Thanks you for your time and sorry for the junkie question.
Thanks for writing to us.
Amphetamines as such cause cardiac stimulation resulting in a rise in heart rate and blood pressure. Taking it with beta blockers raises the blood pressure further as it increases the release of other stimulant neurotransmitters like dopamine.
If taken with...

Does chantix cause your blood pressure to raise

Can chemotherapy cause Parkinson's disease? My mother died at 74 from the disease. I am 53 and just recently completed carboplatin and taxotere and Herceptin every 3 weeks for a year. My father also had essential/familial tremor but subsequent to completion of chemotherapy, my tremors; particularly in my left hand are causing me and my primary doctor some concern.

Thanks for posting your query.

The exact cause of Parkinsonism is not known but there is increasing evidence that Parkinson's disease may be inherited (passed on genetically from family members). So if your mother had parkinsonism then there are chances that you may inherit it too....

hi.. my mummy is diagnosed with parkinsons disease. she is on syndopa 110 mg from last 2 years.
she was also seeing counsellor and having anti-depressants like dotiph, prodep, gabentine forte. off late she is getting delusions night time, can see people night time, can hear some one singing bed time.
we met neuro-psyshciaritist, he has prescribed qutan/ pramirol, but on having those medicines, mummy feels uneasy.

I believe i have the symptoms of sexual exauhstion, but was recently diagnosed with depression. I was prescribed wellbutrin, but have not started taking. Based on what I've read, I'm concerned that I have already exausted dopamine and norepinephrine, and suspect my androgen hormones are messd-up. Should I be taking the wellbutrin? could it exacerbate my condition? What should i do to recover from sexual exaustion, and would the wellbutrin help? Thanks so much.

My 6yr old son did 24hr urine catecholomine test as I have had phaechromocytoma removed. Results for dopamine, noradrenaline and ratio to creatinine have come back high. Possibility tests are against adults ratios but dr is not able to confirm.
Results are noradrenalin 437 nmol, noradrenaline/creatinine 93.0 nmol/nmol. adrenaline 39 nmol, adrenaline/creatinine 8.3 nmol/nmol.
dopamine 2673 nmol, dopamine/creatinine nmol/nmol.

He uses a clenil 100mg inhaler - dont know if this would affect readings?
He is 24kgs and 4ft 2inches tall.

Thanks for the query. I need some info along with it.

I understand that you had surgery for pheochromocytoma at the age of 25yrs. Was it both sides or single side? The other question is that whether anybody in the your family had pheochromocytoma or any other endocrine cancers like medullary...
