Question: Hello doctor. My 4 months old daughter has a scaly rash on her neck. She has developed this rash for month now.Ealier it looked like a small white patch but now it has increased in size a bit.due to her double chin and fat the rash is always covered under the skin.
We took her tona Dermotologist he said its due to humidity as the area doesn't get air .he suggested FUCIDIN ointment twice a day for 15 days ..now its been 6 days we are using it but nothing is getting better.
I request you to Please suggest the proper treatment.

Brief Answer:
Possibly due to fungal cause.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for using the Ask a Doctor service.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. I have checked the attached image. It seems that the rash is due to a fungal cause and such a thing can occur in humid season. You may give some antiallergic like Cetirizine Drops (or possibly better ones like Atarax (hydroxizine) which is a prescription medicine) since an allergic component is usually associated. Apply Candid (clotrimazole) lotion topically a few times a day. It is an antifungal and should help. You may also need to apply some moisturizer like aloe vera lotion over those areas to prevent the area from being scaly and dry.

I do not think that Fucidin is going to help.

It might take a few days to recover and so you need to be patient.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
