Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to the “Ask a Doctor “ service.

I have read your question.

There are a number of conditions to consider in the case of numbness of the head.

Sinus infections ( sinusitis ) for example may be a possibility.

Other conditions to consider are adverse effects of drugs if you use any, atypical migraine, occipital neuralgia, viral infections, etc.

In such cases, getting evaluated by a Neurologist is the first step in understanding correctly your condition.

Imaging of your head and neck such as MRI also may be necessary for a correct diagnosis.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello Dr. Spaho,

any recommendations on remedies to try to get the numbness to go away ?
I started to feel the numbness after a few weeks of severe headaches, that seemed to be caused by high blood pressure. i have since started a diet to lose weight and get the pressure under control.

Brief Answer:
I would explain as follows.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

Best way to improve the numbness in your case is to find and treat the underlying condition.

If blood pressure is causing the numbness controlling it should result in numbness improvement.

Remedies also may be used and these include drugs such as pregabalin, gabapentin, vitamins B complex etc.

Discuss with your Doctor these issues.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to ask if you have further questions.
