Brief Answer:
I would recommend performing some tests.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service!

Regarding your concern, I would like to know if you have a fever.

Is the chest pain triggered by deep breathing or body movements?

I would recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some tests:

- complete blood count, PCR, ESR
- a resting ECG
- a chest X-ray study.

Is it a dry cough? This could be indicative of a viral infection.

As we are in the conditions of the COVID pandemic, testing for this virus may be necessary.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr.Ilir Sharka,

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Thank you for the additional information!

Coming to this point, we can now exclude COVID, however, we should consider other possible causes:

1- gastroesophageal reflux or a hiatal hernia.
2- possible pleuritis
3- an allergic reaction.

For this reason, I would first recommend avoiding large meals, trying to eat more frequently in small portions and take an antiacid or PPI ( omeprazole, pantoprazole, etc.). If this helps improve your situation, you should consider gastroesophageal reflux as the main cause underlying your complaints. In such a case, it would be necessary for performing a fibrogastroscopy.

Otherwise, I would recommend performing pulmonary function tests and allergy tests.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

Wishing all the best,

Dr.Iliri
