Hello: Can A Chest Xray Show The Right Side Of

Question: Hello: Can a chest xray show the right side of the heart and right ventricle, and can a ct scan of the chest also see the right side of the heart if there was any enlargement on the right side? It's now all coming to me after all this time. I was told that I had a normal chest xray, normal troponin, etc each time I had major chest pain. But if you remember, I had a pulmonary embolism about 18 yesrs ago. While a doctor told me about three years ago in 2017 that even when the blood clots dissolve, a person can still have pulmonary hypertension, I never thought about it much because I had started to feel better. I'm praying that there is no pulmonary hypertension. 2017 was a very devastating and trying year for me as it was the same year that my father passed away. I was scheduled to do a cardiac catheterization to check the pressures in my arteries but after I was treated for dental infections and had my teeth pulled, I no longer had chest pain and felt better, and so I went on with my life. Now, three years later I'm having major symptoms that have worsened. My heart rate has been unusually high with little activity. And because it's been so high, I guess that's why the chest pain has worsened along with left arm pain. Still believing God for my healing. I had a stress test and now I will need an echocardiogram, and a cardiac catheterization to assess the pressures in my arteries. Can doctors see right sided heart enlargement on chest xrays, ct scans, troponins, and stress tests? OPThe doctor said there was no fluid on chest xray and the nurse said they could see straight through my xray and that the shape and size was fine. So would that include the right side of my heart as well as the left side? And can a troponin test pick up anything else other than a heart attack if something else was happening to the heart? It's been a year or two since I had a BNP bloomer test. Thanks for your help.

Brief Answer:
An echo test can be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
Chest X-ray can see a shadow of the right atrium, right ventricle is not generally visualised in the X-ray. CT scan detect scars or any enlargement of the heart chambers.
Pulmonary embolism dose not lead to pulmonary artery hypertension in every case. You can go for an echo test which can clearly tell whether there is any pulmonary hypertension, or any cardiac chambers enlarged or not.
Troponin can detect cardiac muscle injury especially infarction(heart attack).
It seems like your heart work up is perfectly normal as of now, and unwanted anxiety troubles you. No need to worry and your heart is just fine.
Hope I have answered your query.
Thanks
