Question: Hello Dr,

She gave me FASH facewash & paulex to apply. Now i have bought Safi..pls advise if i should take it.alternatively advise any other solution. I am 30 yr old married female not pregnant.area affected majorly on both cheek bones and some on forehead ..I dont eat spicy & oily food. I get regular periods..however motions are somewhat irregular. Please suggest how do I get away from this serious pimples issue?

Would allopathy be more effective?

Brief Answer:
Ayurvedic Management

Detailed Answer:
Dear

Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your concern and because you want to get rid of this "serious" issue (in your words) thus below mentioned points need clarification for RESULT oriented management:

1. any history of sleepless nights, too much exposure to sun OR aggressive or temperamental behavior??
2. as you said motions are somewhat irregular, please clarify on this, is this because of irregular intestinal movements or digestive tract problem (constipation) ?? [Acne is believed to have a very close relation to the stomach]
3. have you checked with your Physician/Gynecologist regarding any Hormonal Disturbance (Thyroid/Hemoglobin) or Investigations (ultrasound)?
4. Is your Skin: Normal-Oily-Dry??
5. Are there any blackheads on cheeks/forehead (if tried to squeeze/pinch the pimples)?
6. Any associated itching/inflammation with pimples?
7. any excess use ob beauty products on face?
8. In the mean time just wash your face with Besan and XXXXXXX warm water after coming from outside (best natural bleaching agent),removing excess sebum and dead skin cells, likewise Neem, acts as a deep cleanser.
9. before you clarify along with your concerns, start incorporating following guidelines
i. Use of fresh vegetables and fruits, stay hydrated (drink 10-15 glasses of water/ day)
ii. Avoid: Sugar (in any form), caffeine, cheese, oily-spicy-dry-fried food, chocolates, cakes, iodized salt, soft drinks.
iii. Avoid exposure of the skin to severe climatic conditions.
iv. Friction makes PIMPLES more likely to erupt, so do not over-scrub or touch the affected area whenever possible.

PS: because Skin & Nervous system has a common Embrylogical origin (thus acting as an initiating or aggravating factor), thus treatment is directed as "Psychosomatic Treatment"

It is requested from your side to revert back with above concerns so that guidelines for management (both preventive and curative) can be initiated.

Brief Answer:
Baseline Investigation and Curative Aspect.

Detailed Answer:
Dear

Thanks for giving the details as desired, and going through your clarifications, following work up is done:

1.If sleep is sound but Duration is less and you feel fresh in morning, no issues.

2.Frequent bouts of constipation could be due to:
i. excess intake of dry-cold-astringent-heavy-bitter food?
ii. Any use of medicine containing Aluminium (antacids) or Lead, Iron, or Areca catechu?
iii. any habit of suppression of natural urges?
iv. any excess of psychological factors like: grief-sorrow-hatred??
v. are you suffering from any long standing disease?

3.Yes do have these baseline investigations and clinical examination, for any underlying pathology.

4.As you said Hard water Use is there in your house, thus can be one causative/persisting factor [because hard water makes it difficult to remove the Soap resulting in constant irritation and acne outbreaks], switch to soft water!

. Since skin is Normal thus apply Khas-Khas and Jayphal or medicated lepas like (gloface lepa) or (Acnil Lepa), but since these are prescription drugs, talk with your local Ayurveda Doctor regarding the same.

5.Apply a paste of turmeric in the skin before going to sleep, and wash after a few minutes. In the morning remove any remaining yellow tinge with a paste of chickpea flour and oil.

6.Saariva,Manjishtha XXXXXXX Turmeric,Daruharidra,,Chopchini,Amalaki, can be given as single or in compound form (ointment or Orally)

7 XXXXXXX Oil,Manjishtha Oil,Kumkumadi Oil for massage.
i.Do’s: old rice, green gram, red gram, banana, java plum, butter milk, goat’s milk, clarified butter, soup, cumin seeds, mint.
ii.Don’ts: Wheat, peas, garlic, betel nut, cow’s milk, sour and hot food, excess water drinking.
iii.Shankh Bhasm 125-500 mg with lukewarm water with honey 4 times a day.

8.Syrup Livomyn, Drakshassv, and Aloe Vera juice, Chitrakadi vati is beneficial, check with your Physician there.
