Hello and thank you for sending your question.

This is a very good question and I will work on providing you with some information and recommendations. Generally the recommendation is that any patient with a heart condition including those with pacemakers Should avoid the use of saunas.

i am afraid this would include infrared sauna as well. It is very difficult to predict how your body would react to this type of heat. Also it is impossible to predict how the infrared heat would affect the pacemaker itself as well as the wires which are used by the pacemaker to connect to the heart to regulate the heartbeat.

I think this is something you should also ask your cardiologist. This is the only physician who would likely be able to give you some type of clearance to use this device.

Thank you again for sending your question. Please let me know if you have any additional specific concerns.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
