Hello,

Thanks for your query.

Plan B should be taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. When taken within 72 hours, it decreases the chance of getting pregnant by 89%. There is still 11% chance that you may get pregnant.

It's even more effective when taken within 24 hours.

In simple terms, your chances of pregnancy are less than 11%. Therefore I recommend you to:
1. Wait for your next periods.
2. If you miss your periods by 1 week, get a urine pregnancy test done.
3. Plan b is contraindicated in age group of less than 17 years.
4. Plan b is not for routine contraceptive use and does not prevent against sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV. So please consult your gynaecologist for a suitable contraceptive method.

Hope I have answered all your queries. You may write to me for further clarifications.

Regards,
Dr Nilofer

Hello,
Thanks for the reply.

It will still work. But the side effects are more.
So try to avoid it and use suitable contraceptive method.

Take care.
