Question: congestive heart failure for 12 years; recent peripheral neuropathy, not a diabetic per lab test. Cardiologist has OK'd one 8 0z. glass of red wine before supper which I enjoy.Will taking lytica 50 mg three times a day cause sleepiness?

Lyrica AKA pregabalin works good in neuropathic pain and is well written for your discomfort of neuropathy. 50 mg 8 hourly is well recommended dose, and as far as sleepiness is concerned, i am afraid yes it will cause it. up to 36 % of people using lyrica on this dose report somnolence . I beleive sleep at this part of life where we take anxiolytics for sleep aid is a good thing. if you believe it will bother you, you may always request for an alternative by your doctor.
