Question: Does Wellbutrin XL increase blood sugar? I am pre diabetic and trying to keep my blood sugar even.

I am so sorry to hear about this prediabetic state. Good diet, regular exercise and weight control will help keep you longer before ever getting to the diabetic state. Wellbutrin doesn't increase blood sugar. There is no need to express concerns about this drug qt this time with regard to blood sugar levels.

I do not understand prior to bedtime I checked my blood sugar at 10 pm and my glucose was 97 when I checked my blood sugar at 9 am before eating it was 112. No food was eaten but I took the Wellbutrin 150 mg XL before going to sleep why did my blood sugar rise

Blood sugar changes depending on several different factors: Fright, hunger, anxiety, etc. can all cause an increase in blood sugar. If there was anything of concern, then be rest assurred that this could be teh cause. The same scare factor that led to repeating your blood sugar to ,ake sure it was okay is enough to cause a rise. Be relaxed and know wellbutrin is really not the explanation for this increased.
