Does Clear Urine Require Medical Treatment?

default
Posted on Mon, 6 Nov 2017
Question: All day today my urine output, while normal in volumn, has been almost clear. I have type 2 diabetes and about 4 years ago, due to an inadvertantly overdose of ibuprofen, I had kidney failure . My system returned to normal after 3 weeks of treatment on a kid beyond machine. Should I try and see my primary tomorrow ?

Brief Answer:
NO!!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.

Clear urine means that it is not concentrated. This happens when we drink much water or the temperatures are so low that we have we sweat only a little and much water is sent out as urine. I will like that you monitor this over at least 3days before getting worried. Clear urine in normal volumes has never been a call for concern as opposed to dark urine in small volumes. Also, monitor your body weight as this changes rapidly whenever the kidneys fail to function normally.

In all, see no doctor tomorrow. Monitor urine and report nature/volume to me tomorrow for further review and guidance.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
