Is there any relation between my surgery and increased weight? please help me to reduce extra weight. I am going to get married by this december.

Brief Answer:
DETAILS ARE GIVEN BELOW.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us on Healthcare Magic.

Weight gain occurs frequently following breast implant surgery. It is due to fluid retention and occurs in all patients to some degree. In response to significant physiologic stress such as surgery, it is NORMAL for patients to retain fluid and gain weight following surgery.

It's particularly important to manage weight gain after breast augmentation because it can affect the look of your implants. Managing your diet and return to exercise can help you avoid unwanted gains. Followings things will be helpful:

1) DIET: You should avoid fatty/ sugary/ spicy food stuffs. Basically, you are sedentary during recovery and your body requires fewer calories because you're not as active. Calculate your basal metabolic rate (BMR) and adjust your caloric intake based on your BMR and activity level. A daily calorie deficit of 500 per day will help you to safely lose 1/2 kg per week.

2) EXERCISE: You should start light exercise and follow the directions of your doctor first. After that, you try to begin taking short walks to long walk and engage in low-impact cardio, like bicycle riding etc.

You should avoid high-impact exercises until you are fully recovered, as these can cause your implants to shift and heal improperly. You also avoid pectoral exercises, as these can cause your implants to shift.

To summarize, you should consult with your plastic surgeon and dietician for proper guidance and management of the case.

Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.

Wish your good health and take care yourself.

Regards,
Dr Soumen
