Question: My relative has been suffering from a peculiar disease. She has spot in the right lungs. A pulmologist is looking after her. It has been verified that she has no TB or Cancer. Now the doctor is of though that it may be a disease from fungal or viral infection. Accordingly he has taken step for fungal infection first. But the patient is not good. She has fever around 102-103 degree regular for last 3 months. Only 6-7 hours she gets relieved. Also now some neurological problem are seen. They are not good in a good financial condition.

Brief Answer:
Yes, fungal infection can cause spots on lung.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
See most common cause for spots on lung is tub, followed by lung metastases, followed by fungal infection, followed by atypical pneumonia followed by viral infection.
Possibility of infective etiology is more as she is having high grade fever.
Please let me know
1. Has she ever undergone bronchoscopy and BAL(bronchoalveolar lavage) analysis?
2. Can you send me image of her x ray?
Please reply me answers of above asked questions, so that I can guide you better. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing her good health. Thanks.
