Does Valproate Interact With Cymbalta And Prozac?

Question: I reduced today my cymbalta from 40 mgs to 20 mgs
I also take prozac 40 mgs
Wellbutrin 450 mgs
and started 250 valproic acid
I started the 250 valproic acid when I went from 60 to 40 mgs
My question is should I add an additional 250 valporic now that I am down to 20 mgs cymbalta

Cymbalta, Prozac, Wellbutrin are antidepressants and Valproate is a mood stabiliser. Cymbalta is different from Valproate so to comment whether you should add Valproate I need more details of your symptoms.

i suffer from daily headaches
My dr thought t that cymbalta would help with migraines
It didn't
I want to go back on the depokote for my migraines as it helped in the past

Yes you can increase the dose of Valproate by 250 mg and if needed then the total dose should be increased to 750 mg per day. This dose usually helps to control the migraine headache.

The dose of Cymbalta should be tapered gradually over 2-4 weeks. This will not result in any withdrawal symptoms and you will feel better.
