I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

Prevacid, is a very good medicine to heal you treat your ulcer. If taken daily, it should be enough to cover your stomach problem.

If you still feel some discomfort, even if you have used Prevacid that day, you can use an antiacid like calcium carbonate or Aluminium/magnesium antiacid (Maalox?), or any other antiacid.
It will not substitute Prevacid though, so you still need to continue it.

Also, I guess you are taking care of it, but I just want to reinforce the importance of the diet- avoid spicy and greasy foods because they increase the acid production in your stomach and so make you feel worse.
