Does Effexor Interact With Lamictal And Triumeq?

default
Posted on Mon, 28 Nov 2016
Question: I woke up with both of my hands and forearms numb, just on the ulnar side. I was sleeping on my back, but not a very large pillow, so I wasn't in a lot of neck flexion, and I wasn't sleeping on my arms. It's happened a few times. I take "Triumeq" for HIV, which has always been well controlled, as well as effexor and lamictal.

Brief Answer:
Paresthesias as side effects of drugs very likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

In my opinion, symptoms you describe should be considered as paresthesias and are more likely to be caused by drugs you use as one of the side effects, especially Effexor and Triumeq.

Neuropathy also is a possible side effect of these drugs, nerve conduction study and EMG is necessary in this case to exclude or confirm this possibility.

Episodic paresthesia should be considered as an acceptable side effect, neuropathy in the other hand could lead in disability, so, getting evaluated further is necessary.

Discuss with your Doctor about these issues.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
