Does Crohn's Disease Cause Vomiting And Diarrhea?

default
Posted on Thu, 28 Jan 2016
Question: My daughter,16, had Crohns disease at 11. After treatment it went away. Each year we have blood tests and confirm its absence. This past year she has frequently complained of debilitating stomach aches and throws up. Is this a result of Crohn's disease and how should I treat it? The doctors find no Crohn's reason for the ache and suggest antacid which does not help.

Brief Answer:
Might not be related to Chron's disease

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

Frequently pain abdomen and vomiting might not be related to Chron's disease. In order to help you I need a few more details

1. When you say pain abdomen where does it pain? Around the umbilicus, above it, below it, etc
2. How long does the pain last? What lowers it ?
3. Is it related to her menstrual cycle ?
4. Is she passing normal stools? Is it blood stained anytime?
5. How often are these episodes of pain abdomen?
6. Please mention the medications tried until now
