Question: Hi. My mom has been taking Cannabis Oil is help with severe pain from a tumour she has on the Pituitary Gland. She has been taking it for about a month but a few days ago her ankles have started to swell very badly. She does take meds for high blood pressure and synthroid as her thyroid was removed over 15 years ago. Does taking Cannabis interfere with these meds? thank you so much for your help! XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Consultation

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.

Cannabis oil should not interact with any of the medications your mother takes. Her ankle swelling is very likely related to her high blood pressure and related heart issues. She should visit her primary care doctor for a physical examination. But cannabis oil should not interact with her medications nor does it cause ankle swelling.

Thank you Dr Sheppe. We just made an appointment for her to see her Doctor on Monday. I and my siblings didn't think Cannabis Oil would cause the swelling but wanted advice. We appreciate your input so much.

Have an awesome day!!
