Do Women With HCG Levels Like Mine Ever Go On To Have Live Births?

Question: Hi,

I am currently 7 to 7.5 weeks' pregnant (uncertain of first day of LMP). I have a history of recurrent pregnancy loss (3 miscarriages since 2010, one live birth in 2013, most recent miscarriage in September 2017). I am on progesterone suppositories 3 x per day, Heparin injections 2x per day (tested positive for PAI-1 4g/5g), baby aspirin, and 5 mg folate. I had HELLP Syndrome and preeclampsia with my daughter. I also have a history of hypothyroidism and am on 85 mcg of Synthroid.

I am worried about another miscarriage and have been told by my reproductive endocrinologist that I should be 'guarded'with this pregnancy. My scans (I have had 3 so far) show growth. The most recent scan (4/17/18) showed good growth with a yolk sac present, which had grown appropriately since the week before. The ultrasound tech and nurse practitioner both felt that a heartbeat could not be seen because the yolk sac was so close to the wall of my uterus. I measured 5w6d, although I thought I should have been close to 7 weeks by then. I felt very hopeful after seeing this most recent scan.

What has me very worried are my Beta HCG levels. The measurements were as follows:

3/27/18: 246
4/3/18: 1447
4/10/18: 3048
4/17/18: 3278

I still very much feel pregnant (sore breasts, nausea, tired, aversion to certain smells and foods).

Are the very slow rising Beta HCG levels something I should be overly concerned about, or is it enough that the scans show growth? Do women with HCG levels like mine ever go on to have live births, or should I prepare for the inevitable miscarriage?

Thank you so much for your time!

Brief Answer:
Beta hcg is not satisfactory

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Greetings
I can understand your situation.
Beta hcg is not rising as expected indicating some issues with progress of pregnancy. However it is too early to comment with one value of hcg.
Since the scan is showing 5 . 6 weeks I suggest you to repeat scan after 7 days and beta hcg after 2 days.
If beta hcg is not rising as expected and no heart beat is seen then the pregnancy is less likely to continue.
