Do Constipation And Back Pain Indicate The Recurrence Of Colorectal Cancer?

default
Posted on Wed, 8 Jun 2016
Question: i had colo-rectal surgery 1 year ago, stage 1, 2 surgeries and no chemo or radiation. has been a journey to be regular bowel movements but getting better. Had colonoscopy in late XXXXXXX and all is good. From mid March on have experienced slight red ribbon of blood intermittently in stool, not big and not in water. bowel movments over last 2 weeks dramatically smaller, rabbit like at times. have noticed increased back pain, lower left side, which seems to correlate to increase in weight (2-5 lbs) and reduced bowel movements. when i had a big blowout it seemed to diminish. not sure if any connection, if it is simply from gym workouts, or if this is consistent with blockage somewhere. (had blockage early Feb in upper intestine area which rectified overnight in hospital).

Brief Answer:
Improve your diet first and let's see.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am happy to know your cancer was is hosed early and allowed surgery to be used up address it fully. I have reviewed the information fully and this is really not suggestive of a possible cancer recurrence. I will suggest that you change your hurt to include much fruits, fluids, fiber and do more physical exercise. This will help improve the consistency of stool and bowel habits. we would anticipate a spontaneous resolution and will only evaluate further if this fails to resolve fully.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
