treat the cause not symptoms.
Thank you for asking
I read your question and I understand your concern. These are all the presenting signs and symptoms of a sialolithiasis stone in salivary gland. Pain , going pale , dizziness and even infections are possible with such stones and these stones may complicate by blocking salivary gland ducts.
We need to nip the evil from the bud and treat the cause. Following are the treatment modalities
1.Local measures (eg, sialagogues, massage)
Sometimes manual expression or surgical removal
Analgesics, hydration, and massage can relieve symptoms.
Antistaphylococcal antibiotics can be used to prevent acute sialadenitis if started early.
Stones may pass spontaneously or when salivary flow is stimulated by sialagogues; patients are encouraged to suck a lemon wedge or sour candy every 2 to 3 h. Stones right at the duct orifice can sometimes be expressed manually by squeezing with the fingertips. Dilation of the duct with a small probe may facilitate expulsion.
Surgical removal of stones succeeds if other methods fail. Stones at or near the orifice of the duct may be removed transorally, whereas those in the hilum of the gland often require complete excision of the salivary gland. Stones up to 5 mm in size may be removed endoscopically.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.
Surgery is Needed, Till then conservative
Thank you for getting back to me
As i mentioned the surgery is the treatment which you are already due for. Pain exacerbation is one more indication for surgery indicating conservative methods are not enough. Till then symptomatic treatment which i mentioned in detail in above mentioned documented answer for your guidance. Please consult your doctor if the pain persists. They will help you in this regard.
I hope it helps.
