Hello
Thanks for your query.
It would help a lot if you mention the following details :
1. The exact indication cause for the removal of gall bladder - whether it was due to gall bladder stones or some other reason.
2. Mode of surgery and any complications
3. Exact post operative course - whether it was smooth or not.

The reason for your dark urine and itching could be jaundice, which could be due to various reasons :
1. Any gall bladder stone could have slipped and been retained, leading to obstruction of bile passage and hence jaundice.
2. There could be injury to the gall bladder and surrounding ducts during surgery, which could cause resultant jaundice - symptoms of jaundice are itching and dark yellow urine.
3. Also, any other indication of cholecystectomy could cause such resultant complications.

Sometimes, following gall bladder removal, mild jaundice could also occur without any ominous cause.
Please consult your operating surgeon, and get a liver function test done , and any other investigations as required and indicated by the evaluation.

Take care, and feel free to ask for further questions.

Have gone through the details.
Please get a liver function test done, and get back.
