Posted on Thu, 12 Jan 2017
Question: Hi my periods are quite irregular. In Oct my starting date was 29th. In November it was 24. Now in December i want to be free from date 25 to 28. So I decided to take primolut n. But on 17th spotting occurs. I thought that it will start of periods. So I don't take primolut n. But periods don't get started. From yesterday I.e. from 21 i started to take primolut n twice. But spotting occurs. Same happen today. What should I do now? Is that my periods start? Shall I continue primolut n ? Is it helps to postpone periods till 28th?

Brief Answer:
You should take primolut from 7 days before your cycles.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, XXXXXXX

Thanks for posting the query to HCM.
According to oct and nov cycles your cycles are 26-28 days cycle. Means this month in December your periods were supposed to start on 22nd. Always you should take primolut 7 days before the periods date continuously till the time you have to post pone. As you have stopped and again taken the tablet. But now i don't think you can postpone till 28th. As already you have started spotting i cannot assure 100% post pone with this medicines. Don't stop the tablets. Continue and if your bleeding starts like regular periods then stop the tablet.

Take care.

Brief Answer:
Difficult to judge.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
As you have taken Primolut for some days and stopped on 17th It is very difficulty judging when you'll get the periods. Cause once we stop the tablet, withdrawal bleeding time will start in 72 hours. Rare cases The withdrawal bleeding may extend as in your case. Once you stop the tablets its very difficult to tell can you post pone till 28th. Just give a trial by hoping good and continue the tablets.

Take care.

Brief Answer:
Cannot reassure.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the follow up.
It is very difficult to assure you that the periods will be postponed. As the withdrawal bleeding can happen any time. It is again depending on your luck. Just continue the tablet and hope for the best.

Take care.
