Can Generic Augmentin Be Taken For Sore Throat And Severe Laryngitis?
Question: I have a very sore throat & bad laryngitis for 3-4 days. Is generic Augmentin 500mg safe to take ? Do not have a cold .

I am sorry for the situation you are in.
To ease your sore throat with bad laryngitis I advise as following:
- keep well hydrated; drink more fluids (e.g. water, tea, juice)
- gargle with warm water and salt
- take 1 teaspoon with olive oil and honey on daily basis
- take OTC anti-histaminic drug
- anti-inflammatory meds like ibuprofen can help
If it won't subside within a couple of days, can start taking Augmentin 650 mg twice daily safely unless you will notice allergy symptoms. In such case, should discontinue immediately and go to ER for immediate medical attention.
