Question: I am an alcoholic who is in treatment for the disease right now. I had been a very heavy drinker for many years. I noticed the past few months when my drinking was very bad that i had trouble getting and maintaining an erection. Now that I've been completely sober for over three weeks I am still having trouble with a lasting erection. Will this problem go away, or are there steps I can take to help the issue? I am 37 yrs old.

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have been drinking alcohol habitually since last 15 years and now facing problem of Erectile Dysfunction .

Chronic alcoholisim leas to Alcoholic Neuritis which is the main reason for your problem of ED.It will take at least a tear or more to recover from the side effects of alcohol .

Following measure will help you to boost up your confidence and getting good erection.
1) Practice regular exercise for 45 minutes followed by meditation for 1/2 an hour in the morning.
2) Take high protein diet rich in vegetables and fruits and Vitamin A,C,D,E.and Zinc
3)Take anti oxidants like Almonds 5-6 everyday..
4) Avoid alcohol and smoking..

Taking Sildenafil (Viagra) or Cialis as on demand will help to get good hard sustainable erection and to have enjoyable sex.
