Can Calcium Deficiency Cause Pain In Legs After Delivery?

default
Posted on Wed, 3 Aug 2016
Question: Having pain in legs while getting up. this is specially after my daughter's birth in April last year 2015.
Doctor suggested me to take Iron and calcium(Shellcal HD, and iron tablets) after the delivery but I was not able to take them on time/regularly.
Does this effect is due to some iron/calcium deficiency? please suggest appropriate supplements if i should start taking them again.

Brief Answer:
yes, calcium deficiency

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HCM Forum. Thanks for writing in to us with your health query.I have gone through your query and understand your concerns . It is very common for women not to take care for themselves after delivery because of infant care and house hold work. I Think you should start taking calcium supplements with vitamin d as in shelcal CT . Eat lots of fresh fruits . it will help in strngthening of bones and replenish calcium which is lost during breat feed. Can you tell me where is the pain on your legs whether its in the muscle or the knee joints. Is it associated with back pain also? Do you experience cramps in legs too frequently. Looking forward to hear from you. Regards Dr Manisha Jain.

Pain is in thighs/muscles in breaks while i get up after sitting for longer period time.
There is no back pain.
Related query 2 on this.
Back and acute stomach pain happens to me during periods(consulted with doctors earlier this is rare but happens for some women's, i take muftal spas for it but if i dont take it proactively doesnt helps). Problem is this situation has'nt improved even after my 1st delivery(april last year). Is there any permanent solution to this(apart from removing the ovary which should last resort) I am really suffering due to it every month.

Some more information on 1st question:
**Pain in thighs and backache when i wake up in the morning....pain in legs when i get up from anywhere....i couldn't sit by folding my legs for so long they started to pain....i don't feel cramps**
