Brief Answer:
You need to send me image of your back

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. Scoliosis is very unusual to occur at your age. Most probably you may be having some swelling or list. List is bending of back due to muscle spasm. It is reversible. To confirm this I would like to see a picture of your back. You can remove your shirt and ask some one to take picture of your back and send it to me. I will try my best to help you.
thanks

Hi,

Thank you for reassuring me that I don't have scoliosis. As for the shoulder injury this is what happened:

5/22/2016
I was working out at the gym doing seated cable rows, while in the rowing motion pulling weight/cable to my chest, I turned my head to my side because I heard a noise. Causing what I think is my neck/back shoulder blade to spasm. I immediately felt a shooting pain travel from the base of the right side of my neck down to my mid right side of my back. It also felt like my right shoulder blade wasn't aligned properly. Was protruding more than my left. (This could be swelling I'm not sure.)

I have no pain in surrounding areas like bicep, the actual shoulder joint, or lats. The pain is mostly in the upper right quadrant of my back/neck, starting just right of my spine and moving outward to the right.

2. Currently I am still having pain when I turn my head to the right hand side to look over my shoulder. The pain isn't as bad as the first 3 days, but starts in my neck and travels down my right hand side of my back.

3. I was taking over the counter NSAIDs every 8 hours, and muscle rub cream. I have now switched to using ice 30 mins 3x daily. I went to the chiropractor 2 days ago who told me I had swelling and to not sleep on that side and he also preformed some adjustments to my neck and upper back. I have not worked out and will not for several weeks.

Please let me know in your best knowledge what might have happened and what I should do moving forward for treatment or if I just need to rest the area and it will self-heal. Thank you!

Brief Answer:
This is cervical spondylitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. I think you are having acute attack of cervical spondylitis. In this condition there is nerve compression in spine. It can be due to sudden disc prolapse that may have occured during exercising. I have following suggestions for you.
1. Avoid too much exercises for neck at present. Rather give neck some rest and hot water fomentation . Avoid ice.
2.Tablet Myoril or Myospaz should be taken. These are muscle relaxant
3.Avoid using very big pillow or keeping neck in same position for long time.
4.Once your pain improves after that you can start neck muscle strengthening exercises.
I hope these steps will be helpful for you. let me know if there is any other followup questions. thanks
