Can A Low Vitamin D Level Cause Fatigue?

Question: My Vitamin D level is 25.69. I feel very sleepy always. Not active these days and feel tired easily. Do I need to take medicine?

Thanks for your query.

Vitamin D level is only slightly lower than normal range. Most probably its not responsible for your tiredness. You can take low dose vitamin D for 1 month and it should normalise it.

If you really get tired on mild exertion then its time to get basic blood tests like complete blood count, liver function tests, kidney function tests, fasting blood sugar, thyroid profile, urinalysis, chest xray.

If tiredness is only mild and situational for example during evening, then try lifestyle measures like adequate rest, exercise, yoga, meditation, cleaner food and water etc
