Can Zyprexa Be Taken For Bipolar Disorder?

Question: My adult son is being told he should be taking zyprexan ( not sure of spelling. Hei s bipolar and is an acohlolic.

Olanzapine is a good antipsychotic drug and should help your son if deemed suitable by his psychiatrist.

There is no major interaction with alcohol except that the tendency of having dizziness on sudden standing from lying down may increase. Hence standing up should be a gradual process.
