Can Unwanted Kit Prevent Pregnancy?

default
Posted on Fri, 11 Dec 2015
Question: Hi,
Is unwanted kit safe, if we are not sure about the pregnancy.
We had done that on 13th while her dates were due on 11th. She didn't had her dates, though she has irregular dates by two weeks or so normally as well. She is also claiming to have some pain in her stomach after that.
Is unwanted kit the right solution, if not please guide us through.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to healthcare magic.I understand your concern.
Iam Dr.Srilatha gynaecologist.I have gone through your query.
In my opinion the unwanted kit is to be used
only in confirmed pregnancy.
I would like to know following things for better suggestions:-
1)Since how long there are irregular cycles?
2)When was the last period?
3)When is the date of expected period?
4)What is your height and weight?
Kindly provide me the information.
Looking forward to hear from you.

Brief Answer:
unwanted kit is not needed

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,thanks for the information.
In my opinion we cannot predict the risk of pregnancy depending on the date of intercourse as you have irregular cycles.
But as the period was expected on 11 th of November consider doing a urine pregnancy test if you have done intercourse prior to 11 th November.
If you have done intercourse only on 13 th of November then the pregnancy cannot be predicted this earlier.
Unwanted kit should be used only when the pregnancy is confirmed and wanting for termination.
For now unwanted kit is not needed.
So relax and wait for spontaneous onset of period.
You can wait upto 10 days to 2 weeks.Nothing to worry.
Also the optimum weight for your height is 54 kg.So slight weight reduction also might help in regularisation of cycles.Other causes of irregular cycles like PCOD,thyroid abnormalities, stress should also be ruled out.
Avoid stress as it also causes hormonal imbalance.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to discuss furthur.
Best regards...Dr.Srilatha
